Paynesville, Liberia: November 4, 2024 – Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) and Orange Foundation Liberia has taken significant steps to combat climate change through tree planting initiatives.

These efforts, according to the both institutions are part of a broader strategy to enhance environmental sustainability, improve air quality, and promote biodiversity in Paynesville.
Mayor Robert Soluntul Bestman, II along with representatives of Orange Foundation Liberia over weekend planted several healthy and suitable tree saplings along the ELWA road in Paynesville City.
The planting of the trees is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Paynesville City Corporation and Orange Foundation Liberia.
Tree planting plays a pivotal role in the fight against climate change; as trees absorb carbon dioxide, provide oxygen, and help to regulate temperatures.
In urban areas like Paynesville, increasing green spaces can also improve the quality of life for residents by providing shade, reducing urban heat, and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the city.
The collaboration between local authorities and organizations like the Orange Foundation Liberia highlights the importance of community involvement and corporate social responsibility in environmental initiatives.
