Freetown, Sierra Leone: February 6, 2025 โ A delegation from the Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) has arrived in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
PCCโs delegation is headed by Mayor Robert S. Bestman, II. Other members of the delegation are:
1. Alexander Slewion, PCC Chief Accountant
2. Tito Murray, Deputy Director of Revenue
3. Sheik Mohammed Sirleaf, Deputy Director Environmental
The PCC team is in Freetown to participate in the African Urban Heat Summit 2025 which is organized by the Climate Resilience for all and Co-hosted by the Freetown City Corporation.
Upon arrival in Freetown City, Mayor Bestman and the Mayor of Monrovia, John Siafa who is also attending the Summit received a guard of honor and signed the ceremonial book of honor on behalf of their respective city.
Mayors Bestman and Siafa were sashed and presented the key to the City of Freetown by the Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr.
At the same time, Mayor Bestman and Team while in Freetown held discussion with Liberiaโs Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Angie Van Ballmoos.
During the discussion, Mayor Bestman outlined the purpose of the trip. โAs we strive to make our City better, we must learn from others. We want to interact with our Sierra Leonean counterpart on how they are getting things done here. This will help us improve as we seek to develop of our City,โ said Mayor Bestman.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Van Ballmoos has encouraged the Liberian delegation to explore and create network with partners during the summit.
